Has anyone tried the new treatment Yorvipath 420mcg/1.4mL Inj, 2.8mL for chronic hypoparathyroidism? What to expect?
I was recently diagnosed with chronic hypoparathyroidism and my doctor prescribed Yorvipath 420mcg/1.4mL Inj, 2.8mL. This is a man-made version of parathyroid hormone (PTH), which helps control calcium and phosphate levels in the blood. I've read the side effects list but would love to hear from others who have experienced this treatment. What are the common side effects? Are there any tips for managing them? I've been on Yorvipath for about 6 months now. The injection is pretty easy to do yourself once you get the hang of it. I did get a bit of swelling, but it went down quickly. This stuff really helps with the fatigue I was experiencing.
Be careful when giving yourself injections to avoid bruising or irritation. Rotate injection sites and apply pressure for a few minutes afterward.

I experienced some dizziness and bone pain. It's a bit concerning but my doctor said it can happen and so far it's been manageable but I will definitely be discussing it at my next appointment.
