Has anyone tried Ortikos 9mg ER Capsules for ulcerative colitis?
I was recently prescribed Ortikos 9mg ER Capsules to help with my mild to moderate ulcerative colitis. It's a corticosteroid designed to work mainly in the gut, which is great for reducing side effects. I've done some research, but I'm curious if anyone else has tried this and can share their experiences, both positive and negative. How long did it take to see results? Did you experience any significant side effects? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to manage this condition effectively and minimize any potential risks.
If you're experiencing any of the serious side effects like severe headache, changes in eyesight, or infections, you should definitely contact a doctor immediately. Don't wait it out, just to be safe.
I noticed a lot of people mention headaches. Has anyone else experienced this? I was wondering if it’s something I should look out for or if it’s just a minor side effect.
I've been on Ortikos for about three months now. It took about a month to start noticing a difference, but it's been great so far. I haven't had any serious side effects, just a bit of stomach pain and some fatigue, but nothing too bad.
I've been on corticosteroids before and the weight gain and mood swings were awful. Is it just me or does Ortikos seem to have fewer of these issues?
Be careful with this stuff. I had some pretty bad side effects including a skin rash and severe headache.
How did your doctors determine the dose and duration for you?
I had to take Ortikos for about six months. My doctor monitored me closely for Cushing's syndrome symptoms. I didn't have any issues but it was good to know what to look out for. Definitely worth it to talk to your doctor if you experience any weird symptoms.
My doctor told me to monitor my blood sugar levels. Has anyone else had to do this on Ortikos?
