Has anyone taken Tristart DHA Softgel Capsules during pregnancy?
I'm currently pregnant and my doctor recommended Tristart DHA Softgel Capsules. They're supposed to be great for fetal brain and eye development, but I'm a bit worried about the side effects. Has anyone else taken these? Did you experience any issues? I'm especially curious to hear about how they affected your digestion since I've heard some people have had issues with constipation. I started taking these when I was trying to conceive and continued throughout my pregnancy. My baby was born healthy and had a good APGAR score. I didn't have any side effects, but I did experience the typical pregnancy woes like constipation which could have been related to the pill or could have nothing to do with it. The only thing I can say for sure is the pill has no effect on the medication I am taking for anxiety.
You could try cutting the capsule in half with a pill cutter if it’s too big. Those capsules were uncomfortable to swallow the whole thing down in one shot but if you don't have a pill cutter, just be patient and swallow it whole.
Make sure to take them with a full glass of water and maybe with food to avoid any stomach issues.
I had some stomach discomfort, but it could have been due to anything I was eating. Nothing too severe though, just take them with food.
My doctor recommended these too, and she said the benefits outweigh the risks. I did experience some heartburn, but it was manageable.
