Has anyone taken Ketoconazole 200mg Tablets for a serious fungal infection? What was your experience like?
I've recently been prescribed Ketoconazole 200mg Tablets for a serious fungal infection. I've read about the potential side effects, some of which are quite severe. I'm really nervous about starting this medication. Has anyone else had experience with Ketoconazole? I'd love to hear about your journey, whether it was positive or negative. Did your doctor give you any other options? Pentamidine, fluconazole, and itraconazole are some alternatives. I know a guy who had terrible issues and had to change.
Be careful with this one. My doctor told me it's a last-resort treatment. I had some weird skin reactions and my tongue turned black for a bit. I had to stop taking it, but it did clear up my infection eventually.
Just keep an eye on your liver. Ketoconazole can be tough on it. If you start noticing any yellowing of the skin or eyes, get to a doctor ASAP! I had a co-worker who suffered from liver failure after terminating the medication. It can be life-threatening.
I've heard that Ketoconazole can mess with your adrenal glands. Be aware of the symptoms and talk to your doctor if you feel extremely tired or weak. My friend had a really bad experience with it.
How long have you been on it? I read it can also lower testosterone levels. I know a few guys who had issues with that.
