Has anyone had success with Tiagabine 2mg Tablets for controlling partial seizures?

I've recently been prescribed Tiagabine 2mg Tablets to help manage my partial seizures. I'm curious if anyone else has experience with this medication. How effective has it been for you? What side effects have you encountered, and how did you manage them? I'm especially interested in hearing from those who have experienced the more severe side effects mentioned in the medication guide. Additionally, I would love to know if anyone has any tips for managing the more common side effects, like feeling dizzy or sleepy. With this being a fairly new treatment option for us, I want to gain as much insight to gauge my expectations and be mentally prepared. Thank you all in advance for sharing your experiences!

I've heard mixed things about this medication. Be sure to monitor your mood closely, as it can increase the risk of suicidal thoughts. That being said, I know a few people who have had great success with it.

This medication saved my life. I was having 60 partial seizures per day, after 3 weeks on this med I now have 0. I have many many side effects but nothing like the seizures. Go for it and stay strong!

I had a bad experience with this medication. I ended up in the ER with Stevens-Johnson syndrome. It was terrifying, and I'll never take that risk again. Be very cautious, and trust your instincts if something feels off.

I've been on Tiagabine for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer for my partial seizures. However, I did experience some dizziness and fatigue initially. Drinking plenty of water and eating small, frequent meals helped me manage those side effects. It's great that you're being proactive about understanding the medication!

Be really careful with this drug. I had some pretty bad allergic reactions initially and had to stop using them. Tightness in the chest and throat! Not fun, but I'm glad I had my doctor right beside me.

Has anyone else had trouble with stomach pain? I’ve been dealing with it for weeks and it’s making it hard to stay on the medication.

I found that taking Tiagabine with food really helped with the stomach issues. Might be worth a try!

Just remember, everyone's body reacts differently to medications. What works for one person might not work for another. Stay in close contact with your doctor and advocate for yourself.

I wish I had known about the potential side effects before starting this medication. It would have been helpful to go into it with my eyes wide open.
