Has anyone had severe side effects from Zymaxid 0.5% Ophth Solution 2.5ml? I'm worried about these symptoms!
I was prescribed Zymaxid 0.5% Ophth Solution 2.5ml for a bacterial eye infection, and while it seems to be helping, I'm really concerned about the potential side effects. The list of urgent side effects is pretty scary, especially the ones that mention skin reactions and eye swelling. Has anyone else experienced anything like these side effects? My doctor reassured me it's rare, but I can't stop thinking about it. How do you manage these worries?
The other possible side effects are less alarming, but I really hope I don't end up with changes in taste. It would be irritating to lose that as well.

I work in a pharmacy and I can tell you that severe reactions are extremely uncommon. Just monitor your symptoms and call your doc if you get worried.
I've used Zymaxid before and had no issues. The side effects are rare – try not to stress too much!
I got really scared when I read the side effects, but my doctor said that most people will have no problems at all. I'm taking it and I'm fine so far. Just stay calm and keep track of any changes.
I developed an allergic reaction to another ophth solution once. It was scary but it was just a rash and itching and it went away after stopping the treatment. The doctor wasn't too worried. Not sure this is the same thing with Zymaxid, but worth being prepared.

I had a bad experience with antibiotics once, but this one seems to be fine. Just hope for the best and prepare for the worst. If the side effects are severe then you can stop taking them.
