Has anyone had experience with Zoledronic Acid for bone pain from cancer?
I've recently been advised to take Zoledronic 4mg/100ml Inj,100ml (Zoledronic Acid) to help with bone pain and high calcium levels due to cancer that has spread to my bones. I'm curious to hear from anyone who has experience with this medication. What are the most common side effects you've encountered? Do you have any tips for managing them? I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects and would appreciate any insights others have.
If you notice any signs of kidney problems, like changes in urine output or blood in the urine, you need to go to the ER right away. Don't mess around with that stuff. I wish someone had told me that sooner.
I've been on Zoledronic Acid for about a year now and it's been a lifesaver for my bone pain. The side effects aren't great, but for me the benefits far outweigh them. I had some flu-like symptoms and muscle pain after the first few infusions, but they went away over time.
Anytime I get an infusion it's like a bad case of the flu. I just curl up in bed and try to sleep it off. I also keep crackers and ginger ale on hand for the nausea.
I've been pretty lucky with side effects. Just some minor muscle pain and fatigue, nothing too bad.
