Has Anyone Had Experience with Triamterene 100mg Capsules for High Blood Pressure?
I was recently prescribed Triamterene 100mg Capsules to help manage my high blood pressure and reduce swelling in my legs. I've heard it's a 'water pill' that helps get rid of extra salt and water, which seems great, but I'm a bit concerned about the potential side effects. Has anyone else taken this medication? How did it work for you? Did you experience any serious side effects like liver or kidney problems? I'm also curious about the potassium-keeping aspect—does that actually make a noticeable difference? Any insights or advice would be much appreciated!
Triamterene saved my life, literally. My blood pressure was through the roof, and this stuff brought it down to a normal range. No issues here, knock on wood. Just make sure to monitor your electrolytes.
I had some weird skin reactions when I first started taking it. Turns out I was allergic. Docs switched me to something else, but it was a scary experience. Definitely something to watch out for.
Be careful with this stuff. I tried it and ended up with some nasty stomach issues. And yeah, the potassium thing is a plus, but remember, too much can be bad too. Just keep an eye out for any weird symptoms and talk to your doctor.
Seriously, don't mess around with your kidneys. If you notice any changes in your urine or sudden weight gain, get to a doctor ASAP. Better safe than sorry.
I've heard mixed things about this medication. Some people swear by it, but others have had really bad reactions. If you start feeling really bad, don't wait—get to a doctor.
Triamterene is great for keeping potassium levels in check, but make sure to avoid high-potassium foods while on this med. Too much potassium can be just as bad as too little.
Make sure to drink plenty of water while on this med. It can dehydrate you fast if you're not careful.
I had no idea about the acidosis risk. That's a big one to watch out for. Thanks for the heads-up!
