Has anyone had experience with Ampicillin 250mg Inj, 1 Vial? What were your side effects?
I was prescribed Ampicillin 250mg Inj, 1 Vial for a bacterial infection. I've read about the possible side effects, and while the urgent ones seem scary, the other ones seem more manageable and common. I've never had an injection antibiotic like this before, so I'm a bit nervous. Has anyone here gone through this and can share their experiences? What were your side effects? Did you stick with the treatment, or were you switched to something else? Thanks for any insights!
Be careful with the diarrhea. If it gets really bad, talk to your doctor right away. I had a friend who got C. diff from antibiotics and it was a nightmare.
Can give you a black, hairy tongue. Not a lot of fun, but harmless. I'm a nurse. The pros of ampicillin outweigh the cons.
I had Ampicillin injections a few years ago. The worst side effect I had was severe diarrhea, which was a bit scary but managed it with some electrolyte solutions. And I don't think I knew about the risk for CDAD - but thankfully, I was fine. Stick with it, and hope it works, I know what you mean about being nervous, but it's common.
Ampicillin can cause stomach issues but it worked really well for the infection I had. Take probiotics to balance the bacteria in your gut, make the stomach issues more manageable.
