Has anyone had adverse reactions to Lactated Ringers Inj, 1000ml? I'm worried about the side effects.
I recently had surgery and was given Lactated Ringers Inj, 1000ml to help with hydration. I'm a bit worried about the potential side effects, especially the serious ones like allergic reactions and fluid/electrolyte problems. Has anyone had any issues with this IV fluid? I'd love to know how others have experienced it and if there are any tips for minimizing side effects. Also, what should I do if I notice any of the serious side effects? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I'm a nurse and I've seen a few patients have electrolyte imbalances with it. Just make sure to report any dizziness or confusion to your doctor right away.
I had a bad reaction—my arm got really swollen and red. Went to the ER and they switched me to a different fluid. Just be careful and keep an eye out for anything unusual.
I had it after a major surgery and didn't experience any serious problems, but my arm did get pretty irritated at the injection site. Nice and hydrated though!
I got super itchy and had some hives. Turns out I was having an allergic reaction. Definitely call your doctor if you feel something weird. My doc switched me to a saline solution and it was all good.
It depends on your body. For me, it went fine. No issues at all.
Can anyone confirm if the injection site irritation goes away quickly?
Is it normal to feel a tightness in the chest?
With all the side effects, I'd like to know if any of you got this and had the same reaction as me--none at all.
