Has anyone had a good experience with Budesonide ER 9mg for ulcerative colitis? I'm nervous about the side effects. Does anyone have advice on managing them?
I've recently been prescribed Budesonide ER 9mg Tablets for ulcerative colitis, and while I'm hoping it helps, I'm also pretty nervous about the long list of possible side effects. The medication is supposed to work locally in the gut, but there are still some scary ones listed like allergic reactions and high blood sugar. Has anyone had a good experience with this medication? And if so, did you experience any of the side effects listed, and if so, how did you manage them? I'd really appreciate any advice or personal stories to help me navigate this. Thanks!
I started taking this medication, but I switched it to different medicine because of all the side effects.
I've had Budesonide ER 9mg for a few months. I experienced some diarrhea, nausea, and joint pain. It was a bummer, but my doctor helped me adjust my diet to help manage the side effects. No serious issues so far and it's helping my ulcerative colitis.
I've also had ulcerative colitis for years and my doctor recommended Budesonide ER 9mg. Initially there was some upset stomach but that went away after the first week. It's important to stick to the prescription and not have any self-medicating.
I was really scared about the side effects too, but my doctor assured me that most people don't experience the serious ones. I've had a few cases of headache and back pain, but nothing too bad. My ulcerative colitis is much more manageable now so I think the pros outweigh the cons.
Do you have to take these daily? What about taking them every other day?
Not everyone gets the serious side effects, but just make sure you know the signs and have a plan in case you do. I've had some mild nausea and headaches
