Has anyone experienced any significant side effects with Prohance 279.3mg/ml Inj, 20ml? I'm having a bad taste in my mouth since the MRI!
I recently had an MRI scan where I received a Prohance injection. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced significant side effects. The nurse mentioned it might cause a change in taste, which I am experiencing, but I'm curious if anyone has had issues with kidney problems, or any other severe side effects?. I've noticed a persistent bad taste in my mouth. Considering the severity of the side effects stated, including swelling and breathing issues, I want to prepare myself for any potential issues. It was an uncomfortable experience, and I've seen some scary stories online. I'd love to hear if anyone else has dealt with this and how they managed. Also, anyone know if it has long term effects?
I have a friend who's had kidney problems after Prohance. It's terrifying to think about. If you notice any changes in urine output or blood in your urine, go to the ER immediately. It could be a sign of kidney issues. I wonder if it is the best thing for your health, or if there are other options. The nurse said there are, but it might not be as effective.
I had a really bad reaction to Prohance. I developed hives and had trouble breathing. I ended up in the ER. This was years ago, and I'm still careful about any contrast agents. It was scary and I'll avoid it if I can in the future. Did you report it to the FDA? They need to know about these things.
It is so rare to have reactions that are severe. Most reactions are mild and will not lead to long term issues. If you are worried, you can always ask for a different contrast agent.
I had an MRI with Prohance a few months back and experienced a weird metallic taste in my mouth for about a day. It was unsettling, but it went away eventually. I'm glad to hear others had similar experiences..
I've had it a few times and never had an issue. But I've heard horror stories from others. My doctor said it's rare. Changes in taste can happen, but it should go away. If it doesn't, call your doctor.
Do these side effects persist for a long time? I'm worried about long term effects.
I had Prohance for my MRI last year and didn't experience any side effects at all. Maybe you're just imagining things.
