Has anyone else struggled with the side effects of Methyldopa 500mg Tablets for high blood pressure?
I was prescribed Methyldopa 500mg Tablets to manage my high blood pressure, especially since I'm in the early stages of pregnancy. So far, I've experienced some drowsiness and fatigue, but I'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with more severe side effects like liver problems or difficulty controlling body movements. I've also read about potential allergic reactions, so I'm a bit nervous. How have others managed these side effects, and what should I be particularly aware of? Does anyone have experience with this medication during pregnancy? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I had a bad experience with Methyldopa. I started experiencing shortness of breath and significant weight gain in my arms and legs. Immediately went to the ER and found out it was due to the meds. Have since switched to something else.
My mom was on Methyldopa during her pregnancy and she had no major issues. She just had to switch her diet a bit to feel less fatigued.
Be cautious with this med. I had a friend who had severe dizziness and had to switch to something else. Definitely keep an eye out for those urgent side effects.
Stay away from alcohol. The combination can be very bad. Trust me on this one.
How long have you been on Methyldopa? The side effects might subside after a while. If not, your doctor might adjust the dosage or prescribe something else.
I've heard that taking Methyldopa can sometimes cause a metallic taste in your mouth. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, did it go away over time?
I feel like my doctor should have warned me more about the potential side effects...Oh well. Now I know better.
