Has anyone else had any bad side effects using Granisetron 1mg Tablets for Chemo Nausea?
I've been dealing with nausea and vomiting after my cancer treatments, so my doctor prescribed Granisetron 1mg tablets. While these are supposed to be the most common medication for chemotherapy nausea, the side effects list is so scary. Has anyone experienced any of the severe side effects like serotonin syndrome? How did you handle them? As long as we are discussing this, have any of you found an alternative that worked better?

I was on these for a while and had some dizziness and fatigue, but those were manageable. My oncologist said Granisetron is generally well-tolerated, so just keep an eye out for the rare but severe side effects.
I switched to Ondansetron and had a better experience. No severe side effects, but I've also heard good things about Aprepitant. Might be worth discussing with your doctor.
Serotonin syndrome is scary. My doctor warned me about it, but luckily, I never experienced it. Just stick to the dosage and follow your doctor's instructions closely.

I had a terrible headache and had to stop the Granisetron. My doctor said not everyone can tolerate it, and I guess that was my case. But yes, treating nausea during chemo is a must.
The constipation was the worst for me. I had to start using stool softeners to manage it, but it was worth it to avoid the nausea.
