Has anyone else experienced severe side effects from Tranxene T 7.5mg tablets? Itching, Sore throat, headaches, I think I'm done with this medication!

I've been prescribed Tranxene T 7.5mg tablets for anxiety, as a treatment for a week. It does calm down my nerves and help with panic attacks, but the side effects are driving me crazy. I've been getting a sore throat, itches all over my body, I can't sleep at night (even though it's supposed to help with sleep), and my head feels like it's going to explode. I know everyone is different, but I'm worried that these side effects are just too much for me to handle. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? What should I do? I went as far as to try to sleep in a bathtub and that wouldn't even help. I think I'm done with this medication!

I used to take Xanax instead of Tranxene. The side effects were horrible and I'm pretty sure they were even worse. The only good thing is that it did help with anxiety.

I felt the same way when I started Tranxene T 7.5mg. The first 2 weeks were brutal and I had a bunch of weird side effects, including itching all over my body. I remember my doctor told me to give it a few weeks for my body to adjust to the medication. Turns out it was worth it in the end. Guess it's just my body being different, but it all went away after a week or 2. I wouldn't say it's my favorite medication, but it's the one that worked for me.

Tranxene isn't for everyone, and it's not always the best choice. If the side effects are unbearable I think you should speak to your doctor about alternatives. There are plenty of other benzodiazepines that might work better for you. You should also consider non-medical approaches to managing anxiety, like therapy or meditation. These can be really helpful in the long run. Just don't stop taking it suddenly, you need to wean off or it can cause more problems.

I've had trouble sleeping due to this medication as well. Set yourself up a good sleep hygiene. Things like cool temperature and a quiet bedroom. It also helps me to stay off of my phone and just relax before bed. Easy to say, but hard to do.

I know how you feel. I tried Xanax first. The side effects from Xanax were severe and I had to go through the same pain. I have no idea why I had such a severe reaction to Tranxene, but I actually didn't even try any higher doses. I'm glad I did though because Tranxene did help me and I was able to ween off without any issues.

Sorry to hear that you're having a tough time with Tranxene. It's definitely not a one-size-fits-all medication. Have you tried any other benzodiazepines in the past? Sometimes switching to a different one can make a big difference.

Have you considered talking to your doctor? You might be able to switch to a different medication that works just as well without the same side effects. You might also want to talk to a mental health professional about alternative treatments for your anxiety. You should always do what helps you the most.

If you need a quick solution, then why don't you just drink a lot of water? This might help with the itching, and also flush out your system.
