Fosrenol 750mg Chewable Tablets: My Experience and Questions for the Kidney Community
I was recently prescribed Fosrenol 750mg Chewable Tablets to help manage my phosphorus levels while on dialysis. I've heard it can be a bit tricky to take, but so far, it seems manageable. I just want to see if others have had similar experiences or if there are any tips or tricks to make it easier. I also want to hear about side effects. I know it can cause everything from constipation to allergic reactions, so I'm curious to hear what others have dealt with. Are there any long-term effects I should be worried about?
Don’t forget to take it with meals. It works by binding to the phosphorus in your food, so if you take it at the wrong time, it won’t do much good.
I'm new to all this. How does Fosrenol compare to Sevelamer or other binders? I'm looking for the least annoying option.
I’ve been on it for a year and haven’t noticed any major issues. Diarrhea was a bit of a pain at first, but my doctor upped my dosage and it settled down.
I had a really bad reaction to it. I got hives and had to stop taking it. If you start to feel itchy or get a rash, call your doctor right away.
