Fintepla 2.2mg/ml Solution: Life-Changing or Risky for Severe Epilepsy?
I was recently prescribed Fintepla 2.2mg/ml Solution for my child's Dravet Syndrome. I've read about the potential life-threatening side effects and I'm worried. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? How did you handle the regular heart check-ups? And did you notice any side effects? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Fintepla has been a lifesaver for my daughter with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. We had to deal with some side effects, but her seizures reduced drastically, especially at night. Fintepla works by affecting serotonin and that’s why regular heart check-ups are important. We're grateful we found something that works, even if it's a bit risky.
I've been on Fintepla for a few months now and I can't believe how much it's improved my quality of life. My seizures are way down and I'm much more active. I did notice some dizziness, but it's tolerable. I'm so glad I gave it a try!
The regular heart check-ups are definitely a pain, but they're necessary. My doc said it's because Fintepla can mess with your heart rhythm.
