Doxycycline Hydrate (Hyc) 50mg Tabs for treating bacterial infections - Share your experiences and side effects
I've been prescribed Doxycycline Hyc 50mg Tabs for a urinary tract infection. I've heard it can be used for a variety of infections, even acne and malaria prevention. Has anyone else taken this? I'm curious about the side effects and how well it works. The list of potential serious side effects is a bit concerning, and I hope I don't experience any of those. The most common ones seem manageable, but I'm not looking forward to any upset stomach or diarrhea. Let me know your experiences!
I had to stop taking Doxycycline because of severe stomach pain. It was actually a sign of pancreatitis, turns out. I'm still dealing with the aftermath. This medication is no joke, folks. Be careful.
Side effects are no joke. I had a severe allergic reaction to doxycycline. I had hives and my throat started to close up. I ended up in the ER, and I'm glad I did. It's scary stuff.
I've been on Doxycycline for a while now, and I've noticed some vision changes. I've had headaches and double vision, so I'm definitely going to talk to my doctor about that.
Be careful, having taken this medication for 3 months. I made a full recovery from my bacterial infection but had to deal with intense headaches and vision loss for 3 months afterwards. The doctor recommended discontinuing use, and the symptoms disappeared after a few weeks.
I was prescribed this for a severe case of acne about a year ago. This stuff is a lifesaver
I've had to deal with increased pressure in the brain and severe headaches. I've been told that this is a common side effect of the medication, but it's not always possible to tell when this will happen.
I had some lightheadedness and rapid breathing on this Medication. My Doc didn't seem too concerned.
