Does anyone have experience with Varizig 125unit Inj? What should I expect?
I'm considering Varizig 125unit Inj because I was recently exposed to the chicken pox virus but cant get vaccines. However, the side effects sound pretty horrible. Has anyone else gone through this? Do the benefits outweigh the risks?.
I'm a nurse, and I've seen a few cases where people had to get Varizig. The most common side effect I've seen is just a bit of pain at the injection site. But I do remember one patient who had an allergic reaction, so be vigilant and prepared. Be ready to seek medical help immediately if you notice any signs of that.
I think it's important to note that the severe side effects are rare. I think people forget that and just focus on the worst possible outcomes. I think there is a lot of fearmongering that makes people forget that people can die of chicken pox and the treatment can be worth it.
I had to get this shot last year after my nephew got chickenpox. It was a bit terrifying seeing all those scary side effects, but honestly, it was worth it. The injection site was a little sore, and I had a minor headache, but nothing worse. I had a friend get fluids and had swollen skin so no fun experience.
Be prepared for the worst but hope for the best. I remember having a friend who was at high risk of getting severely sick and went through this. They had no serious side effects, and it was a great relief off the neck after some tough stages, and they think it definitely helped.
I had a friend who had to get this shot and ended up in the hospital with a severe reaction. It's scary stuff, but she's fine now. I think diff. people just respond differently.
I haven't had to get it, but I've heard it can be pretty dicey. Make sure you're not just getting it casually as a preventive measure. I read somewhere that there are plenty of studies that show it should be used only as a last resort if you are very likely to get chicken pox.
I got this shot a few years ago after my sister got sick. I didn't have any serious side effects, just a bit of pain at the injection site. I think it's worth it to prevent chickenpox. I really hope that I did not have a rare reaction.
Just got Varizig yesterday. Fingers crossed for no side effects!
This is the first I've heard of Varizig. I'm surprised it's not more widely known. It's pretty important stuff.
