Dexrazoxane 250mg Inj: My Experience and Questions About Heart Protection During Chemo
Hi everyone, I recently started chemotherapy and my doctor prescribed Dexrazoxane 250mg Inj to protect my heart from damage. I had an extravasation last week, and while the Dexrazoxane was given, I am still experiencing some pain and irritation at the injection site. I've read that hair loss can occur, but I haven't heard about anyone else experiencing this. Has anyone else gone through this? I want to know how others are managing the side effects. Even though I understand the benefits, I'm still a bit worried about the potential serious side effects. Have any of you experienced any of the severe symptoms listed? How did you handle them? I had a bad allergic reaction to Dexrazoxane. I got a pretty nasty rash and had to stop treatment immediately. Be sure to watch out for any signs of an allergic reaction, especially within the first few doses. It's scary stuff.
