CORVITA TABLETS: LIFE SAVING OR SIDE-EFFECT SENSATION? I need advice. Thinking of starting these pills for general health, but I'm seeing some scary side effects on the label. Is it worth the risk?

I've been doing some research on multivitamins and Corvita Tablets keep popping up as a good choice. I know we get a lot of the nutrients we need from diet but when you think about the food available where I live—fast food, prepackaged junk, processed meats, that I can't pronounce the ingredients…yeah I think I'd like a good multi for insurance. The problem is when I read the warnings about allergic reactions and iron poisoning, well I'm thinking I might DIE , not sure I want to take the risk. The FDA says these are rare but I can't be sure if this is worth it! So I guess I'm here to especially hear from folks with personal stories on this stuff. What say you, Reddit?

There's a lot of debate on whether or not multivitamins are actually necessary. My doctor said I don't need them because of the amount of healthy food I consume. Since Corvita tablets are over-the-counter, it might be harder for the company to be transparent about what’s in them. If I was going to try a supplement I'd try to find one that contains enough of the minerals I need without too much unnecessary filler!

Side effects can happen with anything, even natural things like eating too much caffeine (cold meds, soda, coffee, chocolate, etc.)! This is why I suggest everyone go out and talk to an actual doctor before they decide to start taking a supplement. There are a lot of different multivitamins out there, and what works for one person might not work for another. A doc should be able to tell you what is best and maybe even offer some ideas on how to change up your diet in order to avoid taking anything. It is important to note that everyone is different though, and I have heard of some doctor offices mentioning that everyone could benefit from taking a multi regardless of the diet.

I've been taking Corvita Tablets for about a year now, and I haven't experienced any side effects. They've helped me feel more energized and I feel healthier all around. I do think the warnings are scary though, I know I'd be afraid to start taking them if I hadn't already tried them.

I had bad side effects from Corvita Tablets. I started feeling my heart racing right after taking my first dose and I started freaking out. I called my doctor right away and he told me to stop taking them and I thought it was worth it to get a doctor's advice before starting a new supplement. It wasn't too bad but I don't know if that's worth the risk or the cost!

I have started taking Corvita and I've been feeling great! A little more energy and I think my hair is growing more quickly too.

I feel like people often take supplements because of the placebo effect. They think they need it, so they take it, and they feel better. But it might just be because they believe it's helping them.

I'm a little afraid to start taking vitamins because I've heard that if you take too many vitamins you die. Stupid question but how many pills can I take a day? Like if I take a full dose every day, will my body eventually not need to eat food? Or will I no longer need to breathe because the vitamins will give me the breath I need? I mean, if I'm getting everything I need from the vitamin pill, why do I need to eat, drink, sleep and breathe to be healthy? Am I right?

I took Corvita for a couple of weeks and didn't experience any side effects. But after I stopped, I felt so much better. I mean, I'm sure the vitamins were good for me, but they didn't seem to make me feel any different. I guess I'll just stick to eating a balanced diet. I feel like I get all the nutrients I need from eating right.

Are these even necessary? Why take a multivitamin when you can just eat a balanced diet with all the right nutrients? Also, how do you even know if you're getting enough of the nutrients you need? I mean, it's not like you can just check your blood and see if you're deficient in a certain vitamin, right?

I've never really understood the point of multivitamins. If all of us eat the same diet of basically the same food all the time, don't we all need the same amount of the same vitamins? And if there really are essential vitamins that we need more of, shouldn't a doctor prescribe them, not some random vitamin that you pick up from the supermarket? Anyway I don't think I need to bother with them.
