Clobetasol 0.05% Emollient Foam: A Lifesaver for Eczema and Psoriasis, But Beware the Side Effects!
For those of us dealing with the relentless itch and rash of eczema or psoriasis, Clobetasol 0.05% Emollient Foam has been a godsend. This topical steroid works wonders to calm down our overactive immune systems and soothes the skin. But like all powerful medications, it comes with a list of potential side effects that can be scary. I've been using it for a few months now, and while it's helped tremendously, I can't shake the fear of some of those rare but serious side effects. Anyone else feeling the same way? How do you manage the anxiety while benefiting from the relief?
I've been using it for a while and I have noticed a bit of thinning on my arms. But it's a trade off. I would rather deal with thin skin than the itch of my psoriasis.
I've been using Clobetasol for years for my psoriasis. The burning sensation when I first apply it is unpleasant, but it's worth it for the relief it brings. Make sure you're using it on the right skin, not on face, don't apply it on genital. I've heard it can thin the skin and make it easier to tear.

I agree with the previous comment. I had to switch to something else. It's worth talking to a dermatologist to see what else is out there.
I had a bad experience with this stuff. I started to notice some weird skin changes like stretch marks and pimples where I applied it. I had to stop using it and switch to something else. It's so frustrating because it worked so well for my eczema, but the side effects were just too much.
I had a bad reaction to it once and I got burning eyes and vision issues. It scared the crap out of me, but my doctor said it was rare. Keep an eye out for that too.
I've heard that some people use it as a last resort. I'm curious why that is? Is it because of the side effects?

I switched to a different topical because the side effects were too much. I found something else that works well! Everyone is different though. Stick with it if it works for you.
