Cleocin T 1% Lotion for Acne: Experiences, Tips, and Side Effects
I've been prescribed Cleocin T 1% Lotion for acne and I am interested in hearing from others who have used it. How effective was it for you? What were your experiences with side effects, especially any severe reactions? I've heard of other topical antibiotics and I would love to know how this one compares. Do you have any tips for application or storage? Did you experience any long-term benefits? I'm particularly interested in hearing about experiences with c. diff-associated diarrhea (CDAD).
Be careful with this stuff. I had horrible diarrhea after using it for a few weeks. Turns out it was C. diff and I had to be hospitalized. It's so rare but I wish I would have known to look out for it.
Has anyone else had issues with severe allergic reactions? I experienced hives and swelling of the lips after a few applications but I never thought it could be from a topical acne treatment. It was scary!
I also used this and it cleared up my acne. Apply a thin layer and do not overuse. I also noticed that it works well with moisturizers. Make sure to wash your hands before and after application. Sometimes I applied it before bed and that seemed to work the best for me.
Cleocin T was a game-changer for me. It cleared up my acne, but I did have some dryness and redness initially. My doctor suggested using it twice a day but also emphasizing sunscreen usage because the lotion made my skin more sensitive to the sun.
I used Cleocin T for a while and it was great, but I had to stop because my skin was too oily and it made my skin extremely oily after a month.
