Carbidopa/levodopa 25mg-250mg Tabs: My Experience and Side Effects
I recently started taking Carbidopa/levodopa 25mg-250mg tablets for Parkinson's disease. The medication has been a game-changer in improving my movement and reducing stiffness, but I've also experienced some side effects. I was curious to see if anyone else has had similar experiences. How long did it take for you to see improvements? Did you experience any serious side effects? I'm particularly interested in hearing about any unexpected benefits or downsides that weren't mentioned in the literature. Thanks for sharing your stories!
One thing that actually helped me was keeping a side-effect diary. I wrote down everything I experienced and when. That helped me figure out what was due to the meds and what wasn't, and my doctor was able to adjust my dosage accordingly. It's a pain, but really useful!
The sudden sleepiness was a big issue for me. I would fall asleep randomly, which made work really tough. I ended up having to take time off until the doctor adjusted the dosage. Be careful with this one.
The first few weeks were tough, I had some nausea and vivid dreams. But after a month, the benefits in mobility were unmistakable. I had to start taking it with food to avoid the nausea, though.
I think everyone's experience is different, but it's great to hear that it's working for some people. I started getting horrible hallucinations from mine, so I had to switch meds. I miss how much it helped with my symptoms, but the side effects were too much.
