Atropine Sulfate 1mg/ml Inj, 1ml: What are the side effects I should be aware of?
I recently got prescribed Atropine Sulfate 1mg/ml Inj, 1ml. I know it's used in emergencies to help with heart rate, secretions, and muscle relaxation, but I'm a bit concerned about the side effects. I've read about severe ones like allergic reactions and hallucinations, and it makes me nervous. But I also know that many people might experience only minor side effects. Can anyone share their experiences with this medication? Are the serious side effects as common as the list makes it sound, or is it mostly minor stuff like dry mouth and blurred vision?
My dad had to take some last year. He got a bit confused and had trouble urinating but otherwise he was ok. Made me worried though.
I'm a nurse and have given Atropine a bunch of times. Most people just get really thirsty and have trouble focusing. But a few times I've seen patients with bad reactions. Just trust your instincts. If something seems off, call your doctor right away.

I think Atropine should have warning label about the constipation. I had to use it and that was the worst.
Seriously, just drink plenty of water. Helps with the dry mouth.
