Anyone used Sensorcaine/Epi 0.5% Inj for dental work? What was your experience like?
I'm scheduled for a dental procedure soon and my dentist recommended Sensorcaine/Epi 0.5% Inj for local anesthesia. It contains bupivacaine for numbing and epinephrine to prolong the effect and reduce bleeding. Has anyone here had experience with this? I'm curious about the effectiveness, any side effects, and how long the numbing lasts. Also, what should I expect during the recovery period?
I had it for a wisdom tooth extraction. It worked great—numbness lasted for hours, but I was free from pain during the procedure. Just be prepared for some potential side effects like dizziness and a metallic taste—I had a slight headache afterward but nothing too bad.
Wow, that sounds scary. But for me, it was a breeze. Just make sure you eat something before you go in because the nausea can be bad. And drink lots of water, it helps with the dizziness.
I recommend having someone drive you home just in case. I felt fine, but it's better to be safe. Also, avoid heavy lifting or strenuous activity for at least a day. It can cause the anesthetic to spread and affect other areas of your body.
Interesting. I had a similar injectable for a procedure and it was extremely effective. The only difference is I was already a little confused from the meds and I was in a hospital so they monitored me closely. Definitely worth it if you can do it in a hospital or clinic.
Anyone know if it's safe to drive home after the procedure? I'm worried about feeling too dizzy to drive.
