Anyone else have burning and stinging with Diclofenac Sod 0.1% Ophth Soln 5ml?
I was prescribed Diclofenac eye drops after my cataract surgery to help with inflammation and pain. The first few days were fine, but now I'm experiencing a lot of burning and stinging when I use them. I've read that this is a common side effect, but it's quite uncomfortable. Has anyone else dealt with this, and if so, how did you manage it? Did you talk to your doctor about it, or did you find something that worked on your own? I'm just not sure if this is something I should tough out, or if there's a better alternative out there. Appreciate any advice or shared experiences!
I had terrible burning and stinging with this stuff. My doctor switched me to a different eye drop and it was much better.
I had the same issue. Talk to your doctor—they might reduce the frequency or switch you to a different NSAID. It could also be due to another cause. Always best to check with them.
I found that using artificial tears before the drops helped a lot. It might be drying out your eye.
Burning and stinging is pretty common, but if it's really bothering you, you should probably mention it to your doctor. They can adjust the dosage or change the medication.
I used diclofenac after my LASIK surgery and didn't have any issues. That said, everyone's different. It couldn't hurt to ask about other options if you're uncomfortable.
Make sure you're not touching the dropper to your eye or anything else. Contamination can cause irritation.
