Anyone else experience severe side effects from Phenobarbital 16.2mg Tablets? Here's what happened to me...
I've been taking Phenobarbital 16.2mg Tablets for a few months now to manage my epilepsy, and while it's helped with seizures, I've experienced some pretty nasty side effects. From what I've read, Phenobarbital is a barbiturate. It calms down the brain and is used for seizures or sedation. But it can be habit-forming and cause serious side effects if not used correctly. I've had everything from Constant dizziness and drowsiness to more serious issues like severe dizziness, muscle spasms, and even hallucinations. I even went to the ER once because I felt so confused and weak. I noticed a change in my balance too, and it was really scary. My doctor assured me these are rare but possible side effects, but I can't help but worry. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I want to hear from other people who have experienced these symptoms so we can share tips or find solutions. I want to know what to expect and how to manage my medication better.
I had a really bad reaction to it. Sores all over in my mouth, and throat. It was the same one my coworker had to go to the hospital for. I can't believe they didn't take me to the ER first.
I've heard that Phenobarbital can cause serious liver problems. I keep an eye on that stuff now.

You should definitely talk to your doctor about these side effects. It might be a sign that the medication isn't right for you. It isn't a sign to stop taking it without the doctors say so though. Stopping Pheonbarbital suddenly can cause serious withdrawal symptoms.
I had a really bad reaction to Phenobarbital where my skin started to blister and peel. It was horrible. I had to go to the hospital right away because it was life-threatening. I have Stevens-Johnson syndrome because of it.
