Amphotericin B 50mg Inj: My Experience with Serious Side Effects
I was recently prescribed Amphotericin B 50mg Inj for a severe fungal infection and man, what a ride. I knew it was a powerful drug, but the side effects were brutal. I had severe chills and fever and my veins felt like they were on fire. I was also really worried about the potential kidney problems and kept an eye out for any changes in my urine. I'm grateful it's working, but man, this drug is no joke. Has anyone else had a similar experience or am I just unlucky? Also, any tips on managing the side effects would be appreciated!
Seriously, keep an eye on your kidneys. My sister had to stop the treatment because of kidney issues. Scary stuff!
I had a friend who went through this. She said the premedication helped a lot with the infusion-related side effects. Maybe talk to your doctor about that?
The liver issues are what I'm really worried about. If you notice any yellowing of the skin or eyes, get to a doctor fast!

Are you on a higher dose? I wasn't so bad but it sounds way worse than what I experienced. Maybe talk to your Dr. about lowering the dose if possible?
