Akten 3.5% Ophthalmic Gel - Experiences and Side Effects
Has anyone used Akten 3.5% Ophthalmic Gel for eye procedures? I'm scheduled for a minor eye surgery and my doctor suggested using this gel to numb my eye. I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the urgent ones like severe allergic reactions or changes in eyesight. Has anyone had a bad reaction or know someone who has? Also, what was the recovery like?
I had a procedure last month and I'm still having trouble seeing clearly. Is this normal? This is the worst
I've used Akten before for a cataract surgery. It worked great for numbing, but I did experience some burning sensation afterwards. My doctor assured me it was normal. No serious side effects though.
I had some redness and swelling after using Akten, but it went away within a day. Definitely call your doctor if you experience any severe symptoms though.
I had a mild allergic reaction - just some itching around the eye. My doctor gave me some meds for that and it went away in a few days. Nothing too serious.
I've had a good experience with Akten. It numbed my eye well and the procedure went smoothly. I didn't have any of the urgent side effects. However, I did get a mild headache afterwards.Nothing serious.
Be careful with this stuff. I had a friend who had a severe reaction and ended up in the ER. Scary stuff.
I had a procedure and my eye was numb for a few hours. Then I felt a burning sensation for a while. I ended up keeping a cold compress on it for a bit. Then I called my doctor too.
I've had several procedures with Akten and never had any issues. It's lasted long enough for procedures. I've had it for eye measurements, and it definitely helps!
How soon after the procedure did you experience any side effects? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the risk.
What if you experience side effects long after the procedure? Like a week later? Should I be concerned?
